Vinaka, I got email today from a friend, another shairholder who says we are buying? a deal in Mauritania. That is in west africa right?

Anyone here anything about this also?

I've heard something similar mh but wasnt sure exactly where it was. Mauritania would be great! That area is really hotting up..... Do you have any other details??

Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) the large aussie oil and gas producer was exploring offshore Mauritania in the 1990s but withdrew early 2000's I think. Then another aussie Hardman resources had a go. I don't know what the state of play would be or if Range is even considering Maiuritania. Still it is interesting PL is looking at West Africa if he is. I have read that it would be a short term project. Now there is an oxymoron, whoever heard of a short term oil & gas project!

That certainly doesnt apply to Puntland Laughing

Just putting 2 and 2 together, Damian Conboy of Strait who is also director of Alecto Minerals has assets in Mauritania, he may have introduced PL to some interesting oil plays?

There was a mention of offshore Morrocco too so this is all speculation.

Small percentage West Africa offshore is what I heard to, I had originally presume it to be Morocco based on posts on the 'other' board.
